Job descriptions at k3 works

Test engineer – specialists with an overview

Planning, coordinating, monitoring: as a test engineer, you always have an overview of all processing steps of all task.

You calculate and plan the project in close collaboration with our customers. On the way to a customer-tailored answer to the customer’s requirements, you bear the technical responsibility for the working processes within our company. In addition, you retain an overview of the economic figures for your projects at all times, and report directly to the Management.

In the team of experienced engineers and technicians, you are the specialist for fuel testing. You plan the test systems, monitor the test setup and generally ensure a smooth test process in the fuel laboratory.

Finally, you discuss possible solution approaches with the customer. The basis for this is the test documentation, which you are responsible for preparing.

 

Test specialist – the all-rounder of the team

As an test specialist, you are the technical and craftsmanship all-rounder, who implements the objectives of the team: you set up the tests in the fuel laboratory and generate the data required by the Head of Project.

You observe test standards and individual customer specifications in the same way as the applicable safety regulations. You monitor continuous tests and can act in a considered and analytical manner in case of malfunctions.

For this purpose, you bring with you a wide range of basic knowledge on mechanics, pneumatics and hydraulics, and are practised in the handling of electronics as well as software and hardware.

Because you work directly on tests every day, you are also an important provider of ideas regarding the optimization of running processes.

Physics laboratory technicians – assistants with responsibility

As a physics laboratory technician, you support our experimental technicians: you set up tests, test refueling systems, individual components and fuels for their physical properties and evaluate the measurement data. If malfunctions occur during a test run, you find the causes – amongst other things with the aid of plausibility checks. You build measuring boxes, create and program the software for simple tests yourself, and calibrate the sensors.

You develop and operate complex test beds and equipment together in a team with our engineers.

You are familiar with MS Office, and already have a craftsman’s skills and a good understanding of technology. Knowledge of electrical engineering and curiosity about physical interrelationships round off your profile.

The MAC2 team – specialized developers

As a member of our Measurement and Application Competence Center, or MAC² for short, you are responsible for the development and setup of our semiautomatic and fully-automatic test equipment. You create the appropriate software using the programming environment LabVIEW.

During the course of our Quality Management processes, you ensure that our test equipment fulfills the specified requirements. In order to view and evaluate the measurement data manually and automatically, you work using the DIAdem software.

With your physical and electrical engineering know-how, you are also an important contact for our Test team during the selection, accuracy and error calculation of existing measuring systems.
